Mustard Gas Experiment Participant Information Form

During World War II, the Department of Defense subjected more than 60,000 U.S. servicemen to experiments that exposed them to mustard gas. Following declassification of the experiments in the 1990s, only a small number of veterans received compensation from the Veterans Administration (VA). Additionally, a report by National Public Radio detailed how the VA has repeatedly denied the claims of veterans looking to collect compensation. U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill is fighting to ensure all servicemen subjected to these experiments receive compensation for their permanent and often severe injuries.

If you or a loved one you know was subjected to a mustard gas experiment by the Department of Defense, Senator McCaskill is encouraging you to use the form below to notify her office about your case as she works to hold the government accountable for these experiments, and return compensation to those exposed to this harmful gas.

All information will be kept confidential.

If you have any additional questions, contact Senator McCaskill’s office at 202-224-6154.
