McCaskill Meets with Jeff City Native and National Down Syndrome Society ‘Self-Advocate of the Year’

U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill today met with National Down Syndrome Society ‘Self-Advocate of the Year’ award recipient Elijah Mayfield of Jefferson City, as well as representatives from the National Down Syndrome Society as part of the organization’s 2016 Buddy Walk on Washington. “It was an honor to meet with Elijah and the devoted advocates from the National Down Syndrome Society,” McCaskill said. “I was glad to have the opportunity to hear from them and discuss how was can better advocate for Missourians living with Down Syndrome, and to talk directly with Elijah about his passionate advocacy and his tireless, enthusiastic work at his alma mater.”
