Great Public Schools for Missouri

Missouri's students have struggled against the unworkable federal mandates for elementary and high schools and escalating college costs. In 2006, 19,000 students did not graduate from Missouri's high schools while their schools struggled to implement rigid testing requirements. Students graduating and wishing to go to college have struggled against tuition increases of 45%, from $8,201 to $11,861 between the 2000-2001 and 2005-2006 school years at Missouri's public colleges. Claire McCaskill believes we can do better.

Claire McCaskill's Education Priorities:

• Ensure Missouri's elementary and high schools have the resources and flexibility needed to provide an excellent education
• Support students who wish to attend college by increasing student aid and lending opportunities while working to halt tuition increases
• Update and fully fund the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, so all students can get a great education
