NOTE: THE REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - In the midst of the worst economic crisis this country has seen in decades, many area non-profit organizations are looking for help from the federal government. That's why the office of U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill is hosting a seminar to help area entities learn how to compete for vital grant funding which supports a variety of community needs. On Tuesday, October 26, members of McCaskill's staff will host a grant training seminar to provide resources and useful tools to help groups apply for federal and state grant programs.
NOTE: THE REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED.
Competitive federal grants bring federal assistance to Missouri in an honest and fiscally responsible manner. McCaskill believes helping organizations learn how to access federal dollars through competitive grant programs is an important step in ensuring strong community infrastructure while keeping the awarding of federal dollars transparent.
Representatives from federal agencies will provide information to area non-profits on opportunities that might be appropriate for their needs and resources to help them apply for these grant dollars. Presenters will include representatives from the U.S. Department of Education, the U. S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, and the Health Resource and Services Administration. Officials from the Springfield-Greene County Library will also be on hand to tell participants about grant resources available at the library.
